Pride and Hunger for More

FC Badalona Women were eliminated from the Copa de la Reina after falling to FC Barcelona in the semi-finals.
Following the goalless draw in the first leg, the team approached the return match with several changes to the starting line-up due to multiple absences. Carla Abdón, goalkeeper from the reserve team, made her debut for the first team, while Ana González moved from her usual role to play in central defence.
FC Badalona Women remained well organised defensively and pressed FC Barcelona’s build-up in a compact block, recovering possession quickly on multiple occasions and creating dangerous transition opportunities, with chances for Irina and Julve. When it seemed the score would remain unchanged before half-time, Alexia gave the home side the lead just before the break.
In the second half, Badalona maintained concentration for long stretches, although FC Barcelona extended their lead to 3–0. Lice Chamorro reduced the deficit with an individual action, and the team had a chance to close the gap further. In the final stages, the home side set the final score at 4–1.
FC Badalona Women conclude their run in the competition at the semi-final stage, in a tie that leaves the team with a sense of pride for what has been achieved and hunger for more.
