

FC Badalona Women’s youth side saw promotion to Primera Federación Iberdrola slip away this Sunday after a dramatic penalty shootout defeat against Real Sociedad B in the second leg of the Playoff final at Zubieta. Despite carrying a 4-1 advantage from the first leg, the tie was ultimately decided from the spot, with Real Sociedad B prevailing 5-4 on penalties.
The visitors made a strong start to the game, showing composure and competitive edge in a high-pressure environment, and struck first through Nerea Carmona, whose goal (0-1) extended their aggregate lead during the opening half. However, the hosts responded in front of their home crowd, managing to level the tie in the closing stages of the second half and forcing extra time in Zubieta.
After a tightly contested extra period in which both sides pushed through fatigue, promotion was decided from the penalty spot. The shootout went in favour of Real Sociedad B, who secured promotion to Primera Federación Iberdrola after a 5-4 win on penalties.
