MAKING HISTORY IN THE COPA DE LA REINA

Quarterfinals for the first time
Returning home for an official match went very well for Badalona Women, who stepped back onto the Estadi Municipal for a Round of 16 Copa de la Reina match, as the RFEF allows the competition to be played on artificial turf. The team, led by Marc Ballester, put in a strong performance in front of the fans, securing a 1-0 victory over Granada, the revelation team of last season in Liga F.

The first half was especially dominated by the home side, with a goal from Elena Julve, who took advantage of a great pass from Banini. Interestingly, Julve was also the player who scored the last official goal at home in the previous season, against Valencia in a decisive win. It was a magical night, with Ona connecting with the fans and making history, as the Round of 16 had never been surpassed before.
Next up was a trip to the Basque Country to face Real Sociedad in the quarterfinals — a thrilling matchup against one of the strongest teams in the top tier of Spanish women’s football.
